Pain is not just a medical symptom. It affects how you move, rest, think, plan, socialise, work and connect with the world. Diagnostic odysseys often take years, and even if your symptoms are finally given a name, there is rarely a one-size-fits-all solution that magically fixes the daily grind.
That’s why specialist editors in chronic pain have created this hub to connect you with a community that understands, share expert-backed advice and bring you true stories of hope and resilience. There are also reviews of products you might find useful, and the latest UK pain news.
While many painful conditions don’t have a clear-cut cure, improving your daily function so you can do what you want, when you want, without paying the pain penalty for days afterwards, can help improve your quality of life. Our expert team is also here to help you navigate medical and societal systems that were, in reality, not built for people like us.

Living In Pain is an independent website created for people coping with chronic pain in the UK, and for the loved ones supporting them through the highs and lows. Our mission exists to bring expert-led and accessible knowledge on dealing with the practicalities of pain that isn’t overly clinical or disconnected from the reality of daily life.
Sharing methods, tips, and products that those with lived experience of chronic pain are using to live better and feel stronger in their bodies is knowledge that we believe is worth sharing.
Until there’s a cure for all the conditions that cause chronic pain, we’re committed to helping you move through your days as well as possible – with independence, clarity, and real-world support.
Since many of the UK healthcare pathways were not built for chronic conditions, our in-house team of pain and wellbeing experts are here to share information that might move the dial for you.
As our Founder has seen in her 25 years of Living In Pain, sometimes a helpful tip, a word of kindness, or useful review can bring a tangible improvement, and help you live better in a body that hurts.
